The biggest obstacle in crafting a communications strategy was focusing the message to speak directly to the their two key audiences: potential residents, and their families. We aided Revera in repositioning their overarching tone across all marketing communications to reinforce their position in the marketplace. To ensure that the site is usable for every member of the targeted demographic, the site was built in strict adherence to the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), AA standard.
Enabling stronger internal communication
Having an intranet is a keystone for companies as large as Revera. With close to 45,000 employees across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom an intranet provides a centralized homebase for everyone. Revera’s intranet called “MyRevera” provides access to company wide documents, applications, support tools as well as allows employees to keep up to date on what the company is up to, ongoing charitable events, and what’s happening within the Revera community.
The old MyRevera Intranet needed a complete user experience, design and performance overhaul. We partnered with Digital Echidna to create a Drupal 8-based platform that enhances not only the user experience but it also increases the overall performance of the intranet. All of the content editors at Revera love that they can now ensure that they are providing the tools Revera employees rely on but also have a home base for all employees to stay connected and informed no matter where their location is. The best part is that it’s easy to use and saves both content editors and users a significant time saving over the old Intranet.
Community Investment
Through the Revera Giving program, Revera acts as a strong advocate for the different issues facing those in and around their communities. Initiatives such as the Age is More campaign have been enacted to help educate and inspire people through various social initiatives. To support the effort, a microsite has been developed to disseminate information and share stories that are in line with the advocacy taking place. Ultimately, this encourages dialog and builds awareness around the important issue of Ageism (prejudice or discrimination on the basis of a person’s age).
